The 2023 Tour d’ECC presented by Goodman Halioua is here!
12 stages and 4 bonus Fritter Fridays. 850+ km. 34 days. Ride, record, submit. Be awesome. Have fun. Each stage will have a two (2) day window for completion. Stages will be offered as official club rides on these days but can also be ridden at any point during the two day window. Just make sure that the routes are followed correctly. We think we are free of any tricks but if you spot an anomaly let us know by replying. The only oddity is our final stage. Explorer Of The Century! For this stage it’s just 25 or 40 laps of Explorer. With food, drinks and good times. August 26. Let’s make this the event of the season!
Note that in previous Tours, if you made a wrong turn your ride would not match the route and not be counted. This year, a stage attempt will get you a minimum of five points – even if it’s a disaster. In order to get the full ten points, the stage has to be absolutely perfect. Anything in between gets you eight points.
There are make-up days at the end of the tour, offering ample opportunity to complete any outstanding stages. But don’t leave all your riding for the last week, as there MAY be surprise bonus rides available…you never know!
the goal
Have fun, ride your bike, see some parts of the city you may not have seen before, learn the ECC routes.
01
Ride & Record
Ride the stages, record each one, post to Strava, and then send the link to your ride to scoring@etobicokecycling.com with the subject as “Stage # – ???? Team” where # is replaced with the stage number, and ???? is replaced with your team name. Nothing more, nothing less, or else they will be automatically deleted.
02
Fun wins, not speed
Speed is not a factor in the overall standings – it’s about completion. And fun!!
03
Get Moving
It looks easy from the outset, but winning, or even just completing, the Tour will take a lot of effort and dedication. But you got this!
04
For The Win!
Points are awarded for all sorts of things – read the rules, have some fun.
The team with the most points wins.
