Ride Schedule

Here is our Ride Schedule for 2019. Every Thursday at 10 am through the season we send a weekly update confirming ride details, but the schedule below is fairly consistent week-to-week.

Ride Routes
Each rider is responsible for knowing the route. Regardless of whether they are the leader or not. It’s for your own safety and the safety of the group. Every route is linked in the email to a page where you can see the route, download the cue sheet, or download the .tcx or .gpx file for your bike computer. ECC member Armando wrote out these simple instructions for getting routes from Strava to your Garmin. Thanks, Armando.

Ride Classifications
This is a rough guide. Not a guarantee.

Type A: Rolling speeds of 35 km/h and up
Pushing the fittest and fastest riders to their limits, these rides are not for beginners.

Type B: Rolling speeds of 26 – 32 km/h.
A challenging ride for many but not all.

Type C: Rolling speeds of 24 – 26 km/h.
Suitable for newer riders, those coming back from injury, a recovery ride, etc.

Type D: Rolling speeds of 20 – 22 km/h.
Purely social.

Thursday – MORNING

Friday – MORNING
Lake & Royal York: 5:40 am
Kingsway & Twyford: 6:00 am
Route: Fritter Friday 53km. This is a social ride ridden fast, finishing at Sanremo Bakery for fritters. Above all else, this is meant to be a social ride. Please allow until 7:50 am for our return back to Sanremo. Add to that your time for coffee and fritters, and then a ride home. We don’t want anyone to get into trouble for being late, and we don’t need to take any risks riding fast on the route.

Saturdays
Saturday 6:00 am at Sanremo (Type A+)
Route: Heart Starter. A 30 km rip to get you jacked up for the main ride. You’ve got to complete it in an hour or you’ll miss the main ride!

Saturday 7:05 am at Sanremo, 7:25 am at Humbertown (Type B)
Route: Wanless. 95 km. A route that usually incites folks to ride faster than normal, but if we work together it’s not an issue. We will focus on group riding skills on this one. (Shortcut route for 80 km).
——
Route: Innis Lake 106 km. It looks simple and easy but it’s not. (Shortcut route options for 82 km  or 65 km.)
——
Route: Healey 103 km. It’s sort of like a longer Streetsville. But in addition to being longer, it’s more awesome. (Shortcut route options for 89 km or 60 km.)
—————
The Saturday Type C ride is cancelled until we find a leader.
Saturday 8:00 am at Humbertown, 8:20 am at Sanremo (Type C)
Route: Streetsville CW. 53 km. It’s our Fritter Friday route, only on Saturday, and clockwise, but just as much fun.  A social pace, set by the group. No drop. If the pace is too high for you, you need to let the ride leader know to slow it down. Target pace is 27 km/h. Coffee stop guaranteed.
